In a move set to ignite the aspirations of retail and leisure brands across the UK, the Completely Retail Marketplace has joined forces with Landsec, for a competition that promises to turn dreams into reality.

The eagerly awaited Soapbox competition, an integral component of the Marketplace events since its inception in 2014, is making a grand return this April, offering an opportunity for emerging brands to catapult their business into the retail limelight.

Soapbox is designed to bridge the gap between innovative retail and leisure brands and the property industry’s elite, including agents, landlords, investors, and key retail destinations. This platform allows selected brands to present their business model, property needs, and future aspirations directly to those capable of making them a reality. It’s more than a competition; it’s a launchpad for visionary brands to connect with the property industry’s movers and shakers.

This year, Landsec and Completely Retail Marketplace are partnering for the third consecutive year to host the Soapbox competition, set to take place in London on 30th April 2024. The competition will shortlist ten exceptional brands, giving them the chance to pitch their concepts on the Soapbox stage to an audience of property professionals and a panel of judges.

The ultimate prize? An entire month’s residency in one of Landsec’s prime retail spaces, offering the winning brand unparalleled exposure in some of the UK’s most prestigious retail locations. This is a golden ticket for small or newly launched brands struggling to secure prime sites and forge vital industry connections.

The Soapbox sessions have become a highly anticipated element of the Completely Retail Marketplace events, both in the UK and internationally. Their success lies in the simplicity of the concept: providing a dedicated stage for brands to showcase their uniqueness and property requirements to an audience that is actively seeking to discover and invest in new retail opportunities.

Brands are invited to apply for a free 3-4 minute slot on the Soapbox stage, where they can share their story and site requirements with an audience eager to find the next big thing in retail and leisure.
