Seasalt posts record Christmas sales
Lifestyle fashion brand Seasalt has said it enjoyed record Christmas trading with retail sales increasing by 35% year-on-year in the five weeks ending 5 January.
Online sales rose by 39% in the period while in-store sales climbed by 31%, with like-for-like sales up 9%.
Seasalt said the performance was driven by a focus on maintaining a full-price strategy as it delayed its discounting until just before Christmas.
The retailer grew its store estate to 59 shops in December after the opening of two new shops in Cribbs Causeway and Tenby.
Seasalt chief executive Paul Hayes said: “Thanks to more Seasalt customers shopping online and in-store, we have had another fantastic festive season. Our online offer continues to grow impressively, but I’m especially pleased with our 9% like-for-like sales growth in our stores, which is the 3rd year in a row we have had positive like-for-like growth in this period.”
