Seán McGirr appointed as creative director of Alexander McQueen
Kering has announced that Seán McGirr has been appointed as creative director of luxury fashion brand, Alexander McQueen.
McGirr was previously head of ready-to-wear menswear and womenswear at JW Anderson. Prior to that, he was women’s designer at Dries Van Noten and also worked for four years at Uniqlo on the brand’s men’s collections. He started his career assisting at Burberry and Vogue Hommes Japan.
In his new position, he will succeed Sarah Burton who presented her final collection for the brand at Paris Fashion Week last month.
