Samsonite collaborates with estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat
Samsonite has collaborated with the estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat on a new luggage collection.
The two styles feature the artist’s iconic Untitled Skull and Pez Dispenser artworks.
The edgy and raw graphic style of Basquiat extends into the interiors of each suitcase, which feature the artist’s signature design depicting layers of individual words and short lines of text with the occasional insertion of an image.
Each suitcase is also stamped with a collaborative interior label to mark the special project.
Samsonite said the limited collection will appeal to art lovers as well as Generation Z and millennial travellers with an appreciation of pop culture.
The collection is the result of a partnership with Artestar, a global licensing agency and creative consultancy representing high-profile artists, photographers, designers, and creatives.
