River Island teams up with HBC in Canada

High street fashion retailer River Island has teamed up with Hudson’s Bay Company to make its clothing available to shoppers in Canada.

River Island styles for men and women are now being sold on The Bay’s website and will also be stocked in selected Hudson’s Bay department stores in the spring of 2022.

The Bay has recently expanded its offerings for millennial and Gen-Z consumers and HBC said the new partnership will build on that through the sales of items such as loungewear, distressed denim, shackets. asymmetrical cut-out jumpsuits and fringed sequin mini skirts.

The menswear offering features joggers, elevated slim-cotton polos, t-shirts, quilted jackets and denim items.

Laura Janney, chief merchant at The Bay, said: The Bay’s assortment is evolving to deliver sought after brands for style driven Canadians. River Island connects attainable price points with an aspirational aesthetic and we know our younger customers will find on trend and affordable pieces that suit their taste and lifestyle.”

River Island’s head of international development, Theodore Sheppard, added: “We are excited to be launching River Island through such a well-respected partner, The Bay.

“Through this collaboration, we aim to bring River Island’s stand-out fashion to a new group of customers in Canada.”
