Richemont acquires shoemaker Gianvito Rossi
Richemont has acquired a controlling stake in luxury Italian shoemaker Gianvito Rossi.
With headquarters in Milan, Gianvito Rossi was founded in 2006 in San Mauro Pascoli, an area known for its longstanding tradition of luxury shoemaking.
Gianvito Rossi, founder, chief executive, and creative director of the brand, will retain a stake in the company following the purchase and will continue to develop it in partnership with Richemont.
The transaction will have no material financial impact on Richemont’s consolidated net assets or operating result for the year ending 31 March 2024.
Richemont is the parent company of numerous luxury brands including Cartier, Chloé, Dunhill and Montblanc. It also operates Net-A-Porter, Mr Porter, The Outnet and Yoox.
Philippe Fortunato, chief executive of fashion and accessories maisons at Richemont, said: “Gianvito Rossi is an exceptional maison with unique savoir-faire in the world of shoemaking. Its core attributes of uncompromising quality, elegance and timelessness are perfectly aligned with Richemont’s values.
“We are delighted to welcome Gianvito Rossi, his family and his teams to Richemont and look forward to jointly ensuring the enduring creativity and the long-term development of this unique maison.”
