Reiss to embark on phased reopening of UK stores
Reiss is to embark on a phased reopening of its UK stores from 15 June after the lifting of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
Following a successful reopening of selected stores in Europe, the brand will initially open 26 stores across the UK including standalone and outlet shops. A second wave of reopenings will follow a few weeks later.
Appropriate Covid-19 safety initiatives will be introduced including social distancing, a limit on the number of customers in-store at any one time, and the placing of hand sanitising stations at store entrances and cash desks. In addition, staff will be provided with face masks and disposable gloves.
To limit the number of customers using fitting rooms, shoppers will be encouraged to purchase garments to try on at home and use an extended 60 day returns policy if the products are unsuitable. The stores will operate according to reduced trading hours to enable staff to travel to and from work outside of peak periods.
Christos Angelides, Reiss chief executive, said: “We have been working on a phased reopening plan for a number of weeks. Reiss stores will be carefully managed, in accordance with the latest health and safety guidelines to ensure the utmost wellbeing of our staff and customers.
“We have transferred key learnings from our European teams and customers to ensure a safe, robust and enjoyable experience in the UK. We very much look forward to welcoming our customers back through our doors on 15 June”.
