Quiz launches new sustainability initiatives
Quiz has introduced a range of new sustainability initiatives as it looks to reduce energy consumption and its environmental footprint across the business.
This has included switching to 100% carbon free renewable energy in its head office, distribution centre and 67 stores in the UK and Ireland. Quiz this will save more than 900 tonnes of carbon each year, and this figure will increase through the introduction of other smaller scale initiatives.
The fashion retailer has also taken steps to drive down its environmental impact by reducing the amount of waste produced across its supply chain. In addition, it has launched 100% recycled and recyclable bags for all ecommerce orders and in-store purchases and introduced more stringent recycling practices such as the diversion of almost 60 tonnes of material from landfill each year and the recycling of more than eight tonnes of wood each year.
In a further move, Quiz will be launching a sustainable fashion range in 2022 which will be available exclusively online.
Sheraz Ramzan, chief commercial officer of Quiz, said: “Following a period of research, we are really pleased to announce the sustainability measures we have put in place to further minimise the company’s environmental footprint. These measures are part of our wider responsibility strategy, and by no means signal the end of our efforts. We will be continuing to look at how we can improve and are excited to build on this good progress into 2022.”
