Primark to open five new stores in Italy
Primark is to open five new stores in Italy over the next few years as part of a €50 million investment.
The new shops in Livorno, Cosenza, Salerno, Genoa, and Turin will create 600 jobs. The fashion retailer currently employs 4,500 people across the country.
Taking inspiration from the latest retail innovations and Italian style and architecture, the stores will be the first in Italy to feature self-service checkouts and will also have LED lighting.
Luca Ciuffreda, Primark’s director of sales in Italy, said: “At Primark, we are always evolving. We strive to continuously improve as an employer, to reach more customers and continue to enhance our offering. We will continue to offer our customers quality products that are accessible and affordable, in stores that provide a great customer experience. And we remain focused on our commitments to become a circular and more sustainable business.”
Primark currently operates 15 stores in Italy after opening its first shop in the country in Arese in 2016.
