Primark launches first of three new stores to open in New York by end of year
Primark has launched the first of three new stores that are due to open in New York by the end of the year.
The move is part of the fashion retailers growth plan to reach 60 stores in the US by the end of 2026.
The store at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, Long Island opened yesterday and is Primark’s 14th store in the US. The location has 44,290 square feet of retail selling space.
Other openings will follow in Jamaica Avenue in Queens and City Point in Brooklyn in December 2022. The Jamaica Avenue store will help revitalise a hot spot for retail while the City Point shop will be in the recently constructed City Point complex with a frontage onto Fulton Street.
Kevin Tulip, president, Primark US, said: “We’re excited for the future for Primark in New York, as our current stores have shown the important role we can play in the region as an affordable and inclusive retailer, bringing back the allure of brick-and-mortar, Primark offers shoppers affordability without sacrificing quality. Whether they are shopping for their own essentials, the latest trend pieces, or fulfilling loved ones’ holiday wish lists, we have something for everyone in the family and we are committed to delivering the best value on the high street.”
Primark has also signed a new lease for a store at Queens Center in Queens.
