Primark expands further in US with second lease signing in Tennessee

Primark is continuing its US expansion with the signing of a lease for a second store in the state of Tennessee.

After previously announcing that it would launch a store at CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin, the fashion retailer has now signed for a unit in Memphis at Wolfchase Galleria.

The store will offer Primark’s latest fashion ranges, homewares and beauty items.

The retailer currently operates 25 stores in 10 US states and has also announced plans to enter Michigan and Texas.

Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce Wolfchase Galleria shoppers to the ‘Primania’ firsthand and look forward to building our Memphis teams in the meantime.”

Jerod Dinkin, Primark head of real estate USA, said: “We’ve continued to see great success as Primark grows our US presence southward.

“The expansion throughout Tennessee will allow Primark to meet the shopping needs of communities in the state of Tennessee, as well as those nearby in Arkansas and Mississippi.”

Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark now has over 440 stores globally and is looking to reach a total of 530  by the end of 2026.

In June the retailer announced that it would be investing over €40 million in its expansion across Portugal.
