Prada appoints Raf Simons as co-creative director
Luxury brand Prada has announced that Raf Simons will be joining the business as co-creative director.
Due to take up his position on 2 April, he will work alongside Miuccia Prada and share equal responsibility for creative input and decision-making.
The first Prada collection designed jointly by the pair will be unveiled at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear show in September 2020.
In a statement, Prada said: “This partnership, encompassing all creative facets of the Prada label, is born from a deep reciprocal respect and from an open conversation – it is a mutual decision, proposed and determined by both parties. It opens a new dialogue, between designers widely acknowledged as two of the most important and influential of today.”
