Poundland launches new baby and kids range starring Disney favourites

Poundland’s PEP&CO clothing brand has unveiled a new range of children’s clothing featuring licensed characters including Disney’s Mickey Mouse, Toy Story and Lion King.

The new collection includes everyday items ranging from sleepsuits with matching hats to fashion t-shirts and sweat sets with prices starting at £3.

Having launched less than seven years ago, PEP&CO is now one of the UK’s top 20 clothing retailers by volume. Licensed characters accounted for a quarter of its kidswear sales in 2021 and is expected to grow further in 2022.

Disney characters are the most popular among Poundland customers, followed by Warner Brothers characters such as Batman and Harry Potter. Gaming related merchandise such as Minecraft and Xbox is also seeing growth in demand.

Overall, licensed clothing is expected to account for over 10% of PEP&CO sales this year.

Poundland has teamed up with the star of TV’s TOWIE and Baby Steps Georgia Kousoulou and her son Brody who are modelling the Disney outfits.

PEP&CO head of buying and design Maria Epaminondas, said: “We think kids – and their mums and dads – are going to love our new PEP&CO range of licensed product. We’ve built up fantastic relationships with the leading brands and together we’ve made Poundland and PEP&CO a go-to retailer for licensed clothing, not just for kids but for the whole family.”
