PEP&CO on track to have 300 trading locations by end of June
PEP&CO, Poundland’s fashion brand, has revealed that it is on target to trade from more than 300 locations across the UK and Ireland by the end of June, three years after its launch.
Having begun its ‘shop-in-shop’ roll out just over a year ago, PEP&CO expects to become a £100 million annual turnover business by the year end, employing around 2,000 people directly or through Poundland.
In mid-June, Poundland and PEP&CO will open together in a former M&S store in Accrington. Other new openings will include Milford Haven, Edgware and Wallsend in the UK and Naas in the Republic of Ireland as the retailer aims to become a top 15 UK clothing retailer by volume alongside the likes of River Island, Top Man, ASOS and Peacocks.
PEP&CO’s incoming merchandising director Sarah Morgan said: “Supercar-like acceleration, from nought to 300 in what seems like three seconds, not three years, is an amazing achievement. The team is rightly proud of what they’ve achieved in such a short space of time, but beyond the business story, there’s clearly a fashion brand customers love.”
PEP&CO will be celebrating the passing of the 300 store mark with a range of activites. These will include giving away 300 pairs of Flip Flops in selected stores on National Flip Flop Day on 15 June and running a Facebook competition where entrants get the chance to win a family holiday.
