Pentland Brands to invest in skills, innovation and a new London hub

Pentland Brands is to establish a new central London hub in Farringdon as part of plans to accelerate growth.

The owner of outdoor and lifestyle brands Speedo, Berghaus, Canterbury, Endura, Ellesse and Mitre said the move forms part of its strategy to build an organisation that reflects the global and digital nature of its growing business.

This will focus on having skills in the right locations and simplifying Pentland’s organisation as it looks to drive further growth. As part of this, Pentland will be investing in its global product innovation capabilities and will provide all brands with cutting-edge expertise in new product development.

The plans will result in around 90 people leaving the business as the company looks to focus more resources on product, digital, consumer data, and analytics.

Chirag Patel, chief executive of Pentland Brands, said: “We’re a growing business with 2023 revenue and profit expected to exceed pre-pandemic highs. Our plans will accelerate this growth and position us at the forefront of digital innovation and consumer engagement, at a moment in time when our brands are more important than ever in helping people to live more active and healthy lives.”

The new hub is expected to open in early 2024.
