Pandora brand relaunch on track

Jewellery brand Pandora has said preparations for its brand relaunch on 29 August are all on track.

The relaunch will be kicked off with a global PR event in Los Angeles on 28 August as the company increases its focus on Pandora’s core proposition of “co-creation, self-expression and collecting”.

The company has been working to refresh all consumer touchpoints and is introducing a new store design that will be supported by new products and collaborations, celebrity endorsements and the biggest marketing campaign in the company’s history.

Pandora will also launch new online stores and refresh its presence on marketplaces such as Tmall.

The company has also announced that like-for-like sales fell by 10% in its second quarter compared to the same period in the previous year. This was mainly a result of a drop in footfall in Pandora’s stores. However, online like-for-like sales increased by 22%.

Alexander Lacik, president and chief executive of Pandora, said: “Financial results in the second quarter of 2019 were in line with plans. In the quarter, we have progressed rapidly on a number of important commercial initiatives which we can soon reveal and showcase to our consumers as part of our brand relaunch on 29 August.  This is the first important step in our journey towards positive growth.”
