Oxfam partners with Vinted for star-studded Second Hand September fashion show

Oxfam has announced a new partnership with Vinted, the online marketplace dedicated to second-hand fashion, for the organisation’s star-studded fashion show at London Fashion Week this year, as part of Oxfam’s Second Hand September campaign.
Since it launched in 2019, Oxfam’s Second Hand September has helped thousands to shop more sustainably by encouraging people to shop pre-loved and help reduce the impact of the fashion industry on the planet.
This year, Oxfam will once again be opening London Fashion Week with its runway show Style for Change on 12 September featuring a dazzling line-up of famous faces showcasing the joy and innovation of pre-loved clothing.
All outfits on the catwalk will not only be the finest pre-loved clothing, all looks will also be styled by the pioneer of second-hand fashion, stylist Bay Garnett.
Vinted – whose mission is to make second-hand first choice worldwide – will be a core partner for the fashion show. Every outfit shown on the catwalk will be available for purchase on Vinted through Oxfam’s online wardrobe shop. They will also be supporting Oxfam’s Second Hand September to promote second-hand fashion,
Kehinde Brown, Oxfam’s Strategic Communications Lead, is directing the show. She said: “Oxfam are thrilled to have Vinted as our partner for our Style for Change fashion show, as part of our Second Hand September campaign this year. Together, we are on a mission to make second-hand fashion mainstream, so it is a wonderful and authentic pairing.
“Our fashion show will be the ultimate display of sustainable fashion, which we hope will inspire people to discover the joys of second-hand clothing. Vinted has captured the mainstream and championed pre-loved fashion like no other online marketplace has, so      we can’t think of anyone better to be partnering with to help prove that second-hand does not mean second best and that by embracing pre-loved clothing, individuals can express their personal style while contributing to a larger cause.
“As well as inviting people to shop more consciously to help our planet, Vinted’s support will help us continue to raise money for Oxfam’s life-saving work to tackle poverty and inequality across the world.”
Marianne Gybels, Vinted’s Senior Director of Sustainability, said: “Second-hand is a growing megatrend that helps to spark essential conversations about breaking the norm when it comes to shopping and fashion consumption. Vinted aims to make pre-loved clothing easy and accessible to everyone and everywhere. Partnering with Oxfam for Second Hand September is a fantastic opportunity to advance our shared mission. Together, we can collectively champion the tremendous potential of pre-loved fashion and inspire people to embrace second-hand choices, fostering a shift towards more circular behaviours.”
