Next to triple store footprint at Bluewater
Next is to triple its presence at the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent by relocating to what will be one of its largest stores in the UK.
The fashion and homewares retailer is upsizing from its existing 44,600 square foot unit into a 133,000 square foot space that is currently occupied by House of Fraser.
The state-of-the-art store will stock Next’s range of clothing for adults and kids and will also have a homewares department and a café. Next will also relocate the American based global beauty brand, Bath and Body Works, into a 2,000 square foot neighbouring store.
The news follows 12 new lettings and five upsizes in the last six months at Bluewater, which is jointly owned by Landsec, M&G, Royal London and Schroders. There are also plans for Sephora, Pull & Bear, Aesop and Bershka to open shops before the end of the year.
Pablo Sueiras, head of brand account management at Landsec, said: “Next is at the forefront of retail innovation which has made it one of the most in demand brands among consumers.
“Next’s new store will transform a department store into a new destination within Bluewater and enhance the shopping experience for the millions of guests who visit each year.”
