New Look rethinks appointment of chief creative officer

New Look has announced that it has changed its mind about the appointment of Paula Dumont López as its new chief creative officer.

Due to join the business this month, she was meant to succeed Roger Wightman who was going to assume a part-time consultative role while remaining on the New Look board.

In a statement, New Look said that it has decided that Dumont López will no longer join the company as part of a review of its buying, merchandising and design priorities. To ensure continuity, Wightman will continue in his current role as chief creative officer

Dumont López was joining the business from Esprit. Before that, she spent 10 years at Inditex in several roles, including head of product at Zara Basic.

The news follows the announcement that New Look’s chief executive Anders Kristiansen stood down from his position earlier this month.
