N Brown strengthens senior retail team

N Brown Group has strengthened its retail team through two senior hires.

The move follows the appointment of Sarah Welsh as the group’s chief executive of retail on 30 March.

Shailina Parti has joined N Brown as group buying director after working for over five years as  group buying and merchandising director at Jigsaw Clothing.

Meanwhile, Neil Hendy has been hired as group design director. Hendy previously worked in senior design roles at Coast and Marks & Spencer.

N Brown said the appointments will help the business to create unique product propositions for a simplified brand portfolio. The group operates the Simply Be, Ambrose Wilson, JD Williams, Jacamo and Home Essentials brands.

Welsh said: “I am excited to welcome both Shailina and Neil to N Brown. Together, they bring a wealth of experience from across the industry and share our aim of pushing the retail business further ahead on its journey to create strong and unique brands.”

In a further appointment, Angela Gaskell has taken up the new role of group sourcing, sustainability, quality and fit director after previously working as the group’s director of sourcing. Her career also includes stints at Boohoo and Shop Direct.

Meanwhile, Paul Horsfield is continuing in his role of group merchandising and trading director.
