N Brown chair to step down

N Brown has announced that its chairman Ron McMillan will be retiring and stepping down from its board on 30 April due to personal reasons.

The parent company of JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo said its chief executive Steve Johnson will take on the additional role of interim executive chair until a permanent successor is appointed.

Johnson said: “Ron has made a significant contribution as chair and has played a critical role in the transformation of this company. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Ron for his dedication to N Brown.”

Meanwhile. Meg Lustman, independent non-executive director, will assume the role of interim chair of the nominations and governance committee until a replacement is found.

N Brown has also announced that Vicky Mitchell, an independent non-executive director, has notified the board of her intention to step down following the conclusion of its AGM in July. The company will begin a search for additional independent non-executive director shortly.

The company said: “The board would like to express their gratitude to Vicky Mitchell for her service to N Brown.”
