Moss Bros non-executive director to retire from board
Formalwear retailer Moss Bros has announced that Bryan Portman, chairman of its audit committee, will be retiring from the board following the company’s AGM in May 2018.
In statement the company said this would give ample time to search for his successor and ensure an effective handover.
Debbie Hewitt, Moss Bros chairman, added: “On behalf of the whole board, I would like to thank Bryan for the outstanding contribution that he has made, and continues to make to Moss Bros and for the wise counsel he has brought to the board. He has played an important role in bringing financial rigour to the group and he contributes in a balanced and independent way to all of our debates.”
Portman joined the Moss Bros board in July 2011. He has been finance director of a number of retail and financial services businesses. His most recent executive role was as chief financial officer of the Co-Operative Group which he held until 2007.
