Monki launches sustainable swimswear collection
H&M owned Monki is launching its first sustainable swimwear collection as it moves one step closer to its 2030 goal of sourcing only recycled or more sustainable materials.
Made with recycled polyester and recycled polyamide, the materials come from PET bottles and production waste fibres.
Monki managing director Jennie Dahlin Hansson said: “We are always trying to find more sustainable ways of doing fashion. It feels good to now offer swimwear made from recycled materials.”
The spring/summer 2019 collection features items with shoulder frills, shirring, cut out details and high-legged briefs. Prints and colours include leopard print, citrus fruit and golden beige hues.
The collection will be made available in-store and online throughout the spring.
Monki has over 120 concept stores in 16 markets across the world.
