Matchesfashion appoints new CEO
Paolo de Cesare has been named CEO of Matchesfashion.
London-headquartered luxury retailer Matchesfashion has appointed the former boss of French department store Printemps to lead the business. De Cesare has more than 30 years of expertise in the luxury and retail sectors.
Matchesfashion, which sells goods from brands such as Prada and Jimmy Choo from its three London stores as well as online, said Paolo de Cesare will start as chief executive later this year.
De Cesare wrote on Linkedin: “Proud to be joining Matchesfashion as their new CEO. The company pioneered luxury e-commerce and will continue to innovate and delight the most demanding global customers!”
The retailer was established in 1987 and in 2017 the founders, husband and wife Ruth and Tom Chapman, sold a majority stake to funds advised by private-equity group Apax Partners.
