Marks & Spencer hires new menswear buying director

Marks & Spencer has hired Alex Dimitriu as its new menswear buying director.

Dimitriu previously worked with Marks & Spencer from 2013 to 2016 when she was head of buying. Since then, she has worked with New look as womenswear director and Miss Selfridge as buying and design director. Her previous experience also includes a stint at House of Fraser.

In her new role, Dimitriu will work closely with Marks & Spencer head of design Karen Hall and the wider menswear management team.

Wes Taylor, director of menswear at Marks & Spencer, said: “Marks & Spencer is changing and we’re pleased that the scale and pace of our transformation is attracting both new and returning talent. Alex is a brilliant buyer and brings with her a great sense of style and strong leadership skills.”
