Mango embarks on UK expansion
Fashion retailer Mango is continuing its expansion in the UK with plans for 13 new store openings forecast for 2023.
In a statement, the Spanish company said it has been mainly focusing on the “south and centre” of the country in major cities such as Brighton, Bristol, London, Manchester and Leeds.
Daniel López, Mango’s director of expansion and franchises, explained: “The United Kingdom is one of the key markets for Mango’s international expansion. Our arrival this year in cities we have not been present in until now and in some of the largest shopping centres in the country will consolidate the Mango brand and allow us to strengthen our position internationally.”
One of the new locations is a 450 square metre store in London’s Westfield Stratford City shopping centre which has just opened. The expansion programme also includes Mango’s first store in Brighton which will be situated in the Churchill Square shopping centre.
In the first few months of the year, Mango launched new stores in Solihull, Bristol and Leeds and is also planning to open in cities such as Milton Keynes and Glasgow.
The new stores all feature Mango’s Mediterranean-inspired store concept, New Med, which aims to reflect the “spirit and freshness” of the brand.
