Mango appoints chief executive as chair of board
Mango has appointed its chief executive, Toni Ruiz, as chairman of the board of directors of Punto Fa S.L., the fashion retailer’s parent company.
The move follows the death of Mango founder and non-executive chairman Isak Andic last month.
Ruiz will maintain his responsibilities as chief executive following the appointment. He joined Mango in 2015 as chief financial officer and became chief executive three years later.
Commenting on the news, Ruiz said: “I am deeply grateful to the Andic family, the board of directors, and the entire Mango team for trusting me to continue leading this exciting project. Today, Mango is stronger than ever. We have a clear roadmap and great opportunities ahead of us. We want to keep growing and taking Mango to the top.”
Never Miss a Retail Update! The Mango board has also agreed to appoint Jonathan Andic as vice-chairman of the board in a move which confirms the Andic family’s “commitment to, and confidence in, the present and future of Mango”.
In addition, Manel Adell has been hired as a new independent board member of Punto Fa S.L., in line with Isak Andic’s initiative to professionalise Mango’s management.
Adell is a former chief executive of the Desigual fashion brand and has been an independent board member at companies such as Puig, Charlotte Tilbury, AmerSports and Flying Tiger.
