Louis Vuitton hires Johnny Coca as women’s leather goods director
Louis Vuitton has appointed former Mulberry creative director Johnny Coca as its women’s leather goods director.
Due to join the luxury brand on 2 June, Coca will be working alongside its creative director Nicholas Ghesquière. His remit will cover high end leather goods, bags, special orders and the brand’s eyewear range.
Coca left Mulberry last month after nearly five years with the business. Prior to that, he was head design director for leather goods, shoes and accessories at sister LVMH brand Celine.
Commenting on the appointment, Ghesquière said: “I am happy to welcome Johnny at the Maison Louis Vuitton and I am very pleased that he is joining me on this journey that started a few years ago. The team and I are looking forward to working with him in the inspiring world of Louis Vuitton.”
