Long Tall Sally to cease trading
Women’s fashion retailer Long Tall Sally is to cease trading after nearly 45 years in business.
The specialist in clothing for taller women said the changing face of retail and stiff competition had hit the company hard and that this had been exacerbated by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Alison Doherty, Long Tall Sally’s chef operating officer, said: “The economic outlook is now too uncertain for our shareholders to continue to support the business, so it’s with a very heavy heart that I must tell you we will be winding down Long Tall Sally. Please know we explored every possible avenue to continue trading but the financial impact of the pandemic means the business is no longer sustainable.”
The company is aiming to continue trading until the end of August.
