Laings opens first OMEGA showroom for Wales at St David’s
Laings, the luxury jewellery retailer, has opened a new OMEGA showroom at St David’s Cardiff.
The 838 square foot space is both the first mono-brand showroom to be operated by Laings and the first dedicated store for OMEGA in Wales.
Situated on Hayes Arcade, the centre’s emerging luxury watch and jewellery quarter, the shop sells OMEGA’s Constellation, Seamaster, Speedmaster and De Ville collections. Featuring plush red carpets and signature gold accents to mirror OMEGA’s timepieces, the store also has OMEGA’s bespoke fragrance flowing in via its air-conditioning system.
Stuart McDowell, managing director of Laings, said: “We’re thrilled to see our first mono-brand showroom open its doors in St David’s, cementing our commitment to Cardiff as a city. The opening of this showroom bolsters our longstanding relationship with OMEGA and allows us the opportunity to share our passion and knowledge about the pioneering technology, history and collections of one of the world’s most respected watch brands.”
Andrea Nunziata, brand director at OMEGA UK, added: “The partnership between OMEGA and Laings is well-established, and our new showroom endeavour in St David’s is such an exciting product of that. The arrival of this showroom in Cardiff allows us to continue to share our signature collection of luxury products in key urban locations.”
The news follows the opening of a Laings’ boutique at St David’s last year following a £3 million investment. Also on Hayes Arcade, the store sells brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe and Faberge. It also follows the recent opening of a standalone Breitling boutique and the regional debut for luxury cosmetics brand Rituals at the centre.
Pablo Sueiras, head of retail channels for Landsec, said: “As an already established operator at St David’s, we’re delighted to see Laings add to their significantly revitalised boutique and launch a mono-brand OMEGA showroom, reinforcing Hayes Arcade as a key location for luxury brands. Our guests have shown a clear demand for jewellery and watches, a sector now even stronger with the addition of OMEGA, as one of the most recognised brands in the world.”
