L Brands appoints new CEO for Victoria’s Secret Lingerie

L Brands has announced that Martin Waters has been appointed as the new chief executive of Victoria’s Secret Lingerie.

He has succeeded John Mehas who has served in the role since February 2019.

Waters has been working with L Brands since  2008 as head of the company’s international division. Prior to that, he was managing director of Boots International.

In his new role, he will report to Stuart Burgdoerfer, the interim chief executive of Victoria’s Secret and chief financial officer of L Brands.

Sarah Nash, chair of L Brands’ board of directors, said:   “Martin Waters is an experienced retail executive who has led our international business for the past 12 years. He is an exceptional leader and is widely respected both within and outside of our business.

The group has also confirmed that Laura Miller has been appointed as chief human resources officer of Victoria’s Secret while Becky Behringer has been promoted to the position of vice president of North America store sales and operations. In addition, Janie Schaffer has been hired as chief design officer of Victoria’s Secret Lingerie.

Nash added: “Laura brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role of CHRO, combined with a passion for helping people reach their full potential. Becky’s deep knowledge of our stores organisation and the customer will help us deliver success as we approach the Holiday season and beyond. Janie is a proven leader with a record of creating and re-positioning brands and growing profitable sales across international markets.”
