Kids Cavern opens fifth UK store in Gateshead

Kids Cavern has opened a new store at Gateshead’s Metrocentre.

Situated on the Lower Platinum Mall between Kurt Geiger and Office, the new shop sells a selection of designer brands including Balmain, Balenciaga, Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Givenchy, as well as a range of  household designer names.

Spanning 7,000 square feet, the shop is the fifth Kids Cavern shop to open in the UK.

Danny Shelvey, Kids Cavern managing director, said: “The new Kids Cavern store will bring the very best luxury childrenswear to Metrocentre. North East consumers have a keen eye for fashion and are very savvy shoppers in touch with the latest trends, so with over 120 designer names stocked in-store and prices starting from around £20, we are confident we will meet the needs of brand-loving parents.

“We found people sometimes have unpleasant memories of shopping at designer department stores, so we wanted to break the mould with a relaxed and informal experience for our customers.”

The family-run business has over 30 years’ experience in the designer childrenswear sector after launching as a small market stall in Liverpool.

Other recent openings at Metrocentre include Lids and Carvela and Castore is expected to open a Newcastle United store in the centre this week.
