Kickers launches first-ever plant-based range of school shoes
Kickers have announced that they are launching their first-ever plant-based range of school shoes.
This July, Kickers will launch a plant-based material as part of its 100% vegan range which is a lower-impact alternative to standard PU leather.
Kickers’ plant-based material is made from 75% plant-based materials including a mix of corn and cereals, which is grown for non-food purposes and is 100% GMO-free and FSC certified Viscose. The remaining 25% is synthetic based which ensures durability in footwear.
Kickers’ plant-based material has 5 times the durability when compared to standard PU-based products, offering a vegan alternative to its iconic leather range, that doesn’t compromise on durability or style.
The range will launch across Kickers’ best-selling styles, with the plant-based material being PETA and vegan approved.
Additionally, in 2022 Kickers is taking action to offset some of its carbon emissions by planting a tree for every pair of Kickers footwear made.
Jaye Taylor, Kickers’ Senior Brand Manager says: “We are excited to launch the Kickers plant-based school collection. As we try to shift to a more sustainable world, at Kickers we are committed to launching and expanding our vegan collection – giving parents even more choice when it comes to their kids’ school shoes without having to compromise on style, durability or price.”
