Kate Spade New York appoints two head product designers

Fashion brand Kate Spade New York has appointed Tom Mora and Jennifer Lyu as principal designers for all of its product categories.

The pair have been key members of the Kate Spade design team since 2021. In his new role, Mora will oversee the design direction for the brand’s ready-to-wear, footwear, jewellery, home and licensed lifestyle categories. Meanwhile Lyu will lead the design function for handbags and accessories collections.

Prior to joining Kate Spade. Mora served as creative director of women’s and licensed product at Cole Haan where he oversaw seasonal collections, advertising and visual presentation. His career has also included stints at Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach and J Crew.

Lyu previously worked with Tory Burch where she led design for the handbags and small leather goods category. Prior to that, she held various design leadership roles at 3.1 Phillip Lim and senior design roles at Emilio Pucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada.

Liz Fraser, Kate Spade chief executive, said: “Tom and Jennifer have both been serving as key members of the Kate Spade New York design team, and we’re thrilled to announce their official roles as SVP and head of product design across their respective categories.

“We are thrilled to embark on our next chapter with these two creative visionaries leading product design and are excited to see how they bring their own unique perspectives of the Kate Spade NewYork spirit to the brand, our future collections, and most importantly, our community.”
