JYSK continues international expansion
Furniture retailer JYSK has entered two new countries with store openings in Tajikistan and Moldova.
The move means that the company now has a presence in 47 countries.
The first JYSK store in the Republic of Tajikistan has a sales area of 1250 square metres and is situated in the capital Dushanbe, which has approximately 670,000 inhabitants.
Frederik Kroun, franchise director at JYSK, said: “There is nothing in Tajikistan which resembles JYSK. This is the main reason why we believe, that there is a good market for our stores in the country. Many customers attended on the opening day, so that is promising for the future.”

Meanwhile, the first JYSK store in Moldova opened on 22 December in the capital city of Chișinău.
Kroun added: “JYSK is already experiencing great success in the neighboring countries Romania and Ukraine, so we hope that will also be the case for our franchise business in Moldova.”
Having opened its first store opened in Denmark in 1979, JYSK now has 2,400 stores and 21,000 employees across the world.
