Joe Browns reports surging footwear sales
Joe Browns has increased its sales of women’s footwear by 64% year-on-year in the spring/summer season.
The retailer is attributing the uplift to the success of its occasion wear styles and a more vibrant colour palette.
Louise Harrison, Joe Browns buyer for footwear and accessories, said: “Occasion wear shoes have been by far the biggest driver with unit sales growing by a massive 115% compared to last summer. Many styles are selling out just weeks after launch.”
In addition, demand for Joe Browns’ ankle boots have almost doubled compared to the same period last year. This follows a decision to increase the retailer’s range of transitional styles to suit the changeable British weather.
Men’s footwear sales have also experienced strong growth. The brand has sold 63% more pairs this year than in the previous summer season.
Simon Brown, founder and managing director of Joe Browns, said: “We’re really happy with the popularity of our collections are continually gaining momentum at such an exciting time for us, ahead of our next exploration into retail.”
Joe Browns has announced that it is opening its second store at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in York next month. It will also be launching a new ecommerce platform with Magento in the coming weeks.
