Joe Browns appoints former La Redoute chief executive as chairman
Fashion and homewares retailer Joe Browns has appointed Michael Truluck as chairman with immediate effect.
Truluck previously worked as chief executive of La Redoute International for ten years but has recently left to spend more time with his family in Yorkshire and to build a non-executive portfolio.
He has joined Joe Browns in its 25th anniversary year as it works towards opening 10 new stores by the end of 2024. In May, the company announced that the 12 months to June 2022 had been its strongest year to date with sales and profit rising by 20.9% and 7.8% respectively.
The company has recently completed a £2 million warehouse upgrade to support growth ambitions and increase pick face capacity.
Commenting on Truluck’s appointment, Simon Brown, founder of Joe Browns, said: “When I learned Michael was looking for a non-exec role, I was keen to meet with him and discuss the vision for Joe Browns’ future, and establish if he shared a similar excitement for our opportunities.
“It’s safe to say he could see the wealth of potential in our unique offering and I’m excited to have him along for the journey.”
