Inditex invests €238m in new building for Zara sales and design teams

Inditex is investing €238 million in a new 170,000 square metre building in Northern Spain that will house the Zara sales and design teams.

Situated in  Inditex’s complex in Arteixo, the new five-storey space will complement the visual identity of the adjacent offices, which accommodate Zara’s online operations.

Work on the building is due to get underway in January, subject to the necessary permissions, and is expected to last around two years.

In a statement, Inditex said the building will be predominantly white and have large horizontal windows with protruding eaves to provide protection from the sun whilst flooding spaces with natural light. It will also feature large open spaces to facilitate dynamic work flows between the various departments.

Designed by Batlleiroig, the architecture firm which was responsible for the expansion of Inditex’s facilities in Arteixo and several of its head offices, the building will aim to uphold the highest standards of sustainability and will be fitted with a next-generation facility management system.
