Il Porticciolo opens first physical store

Sloane Stanley Estate has announced that luxury childrenswear boutique Il Porticciolo has opened a new store on Chelsea’s King’s Road.

Designed in-house by the brand, the shop is Il Porticciolo’s first bricks-and-mortar location.

The 1,077 square foot two-level boutique showcases the brand’s classic childrenswear, including cashmere, merino wool jumpers, and traditional hand and machine-made smocked dresses.

Carola Ploederl Cafiero, founder of Il Porticciolo, said: “The King’s Road is one of the most established and recognised locations in London and we are proud to call it our home. We’ve managed to form a strong online presence, and this flagship store will deliver a home for our customers and allow us to build our brand awareness further and be more accessible to the local community. Sloane Stanley has provided us with our first prominent space in the heart of Chelsea, and we look forward to being a part of this eclectic destination.”

Other brands with a presence on the estate include luxury nail care brand Townhouse, home decor specialist Designer’s Guild, and bespoke furniture brand Timothy Oulton, as well as wine merchant Jeroboams and boutique lifestyle brand Birdie Fortescue.

Hannah Grievson, property director at Sloane Stanley, said: “Our long-term strategy for the Estate is to provide boutique-focused options and diversify our fashion and retail offer to cater for our community. Il Porticciolo is a unique addition to the King’s Road; it delivers a compelling proposition, it complements our existing tenants, and highlights the significance of the Estate in providing opportunities for flagship locations, and we’re pleased to have them as part of our growing retail portfolio.”
