H&M to open new Covent Garden store

High street fashion retailer H&M is to open a new store in London’s Covent Garden next week.

Due to open on 8 December, the store will be a relocation from H&M’s current Covent Garden store on Long Acre.

The shop will be housed in a historic 19th Century warehouse building in the new Mercers Walk development just off Langley Street.

Celebrations for the store opening will include vintage market stalls, LED drummers, in store DJs, shopper discounts and goodie bags. All customers in the queue before 11am will receive a 25% discount wristband for use on all purchases on the opening day.

H&M’s country manager for UK & IE Carlos Duarte said: “We are excited to be relocating our store in Covent Garden. New locations and developments are great opportunities for the H&M brand to expand. The inclusion of our Beauty range in the offering continues to ensure our stores remain exciting and inspiring fashion destinations for our customers.

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first UK store in 1976. Forty years later, the UK and Ireland portfolio has grown to include more than 260 stores.
