H&M proposes Helena Saxon as new board member
H&M has announced that its nomination committee has proposed that Helena Saxon be elected to its board.
She will replace Skype founder Niklas Zennström who has declined re-election to focus on his own companies and foundations.
After graduating, Saxon started her career as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs in London. Most recently, she has worked with Investor AB as the company’s chief financial officer.
Stefan Persson, chair of H&M group’s nomination committee, said: “Helena has many years of broad experience in areas such as finance, tech, investments and communications and has been CFO at Investor AB since 2015.
“She also has extensive experience from board work and audit committee work. Today, Helena is a member of the boards and audit committees of SEB, Sobi and the Stockholm School of Economics.
“We can see that Helena’s knowledge will be a valuable addition to the board in its future work.”
H&M has also announced that the re-election of Stina Bergfors, Anders Dahlvig, Danica Kragic Jensfelt, Lena Patriksson Keller, Karl-Johan Persson, Christian Sievert and Christina Synnergren as board members, with Karl-Johan Persson proposed to be re-elected as chair of the board.
Person thanked Zennström for his ten years work as a board member, adding that he had generously shared his knowledge and network, especially with regard to technology and entrepreneurship.
Zennström said: “Over the past 10 years the H&M group has undergone a major digital transformation and I am confident that the company is well prepared for a digital-first future.
“Now it’s time for me to move on and devote time and effort to my own companies and foundations, but the H&M group will always have a special meaning for me and I will therefore always be helpful with advice and contacts when needed.”
