H&M opens first store in Ecuador
H&M has opened its first store in Ecuador at the Quicentro Shopping Mall in Quito.
More than 200 customers queued to enter the store on its opening day where there were prizes for the first customers in line.
Staff present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony included Carlos Duarte, regional manager Americas; Macu Alfaro, country manager for Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador; Ricardo Guerrero, Ecuador project manager; Aia Radzyminska, Ecuador area manager; and Ariana Claramont and Ivan Guzman, the store’s managers.
Alfaro said: “Our H&M family continues to grow and we are very happy with the unparalleled reception that our customers in Ecuador have given us. We are excited to finally open our doors and welcome all the people who love fashion and who will undoubtedly find their new favourite store in H&M.”
The fashion brand is planning to open to further stores in the country this year and will also launch an online shopping site.
Ecuador is H&Ms 80th market.
