H&M collaborates with Rabanne
H&M has embarked on a new fashion collaboration with renowned fashion house Rabanne.
Founded by the late Paco Rabanne, who was known for his era-defining 1960s creations, the brand’s creative direction has been led by Julien Dossena since 2013.
The new collection will launch in selected stores and online at hm.com on 9 November, with items spanning womenswear, menswear, shoes and accessories. There will also be an H&M Home décor capsule that complements the fashion range.
H&M gave an exclusive preview of the collection at a glamorous event at the Silencio nightclub in Paris where guests included Jared Leto, Damson Idris, Irina Shayk and Elle Fanning.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M, said: “As a designer, I’ve always been interested in exploring hedonism and empowerment. I was very enthusiastic to work with H&M on a collection that will introduce Rabanne’s avant-garde energy to a wider audience in a democratic way.“
H&M was an early pioneer in the fashion collaboration space, launching its designer collaboration series with a partnership with the late Karl Lagerfeld in November 2004. Since then, it has partnered with the likes of Versace, Comme des Garçons, Balmain, Maison Margiela, Stella McCartney and Mugler.
