H&M collaborates with Pringle on knitwear collection

H&M has collaborated with heritage knitwear brand Pringle of Scotland on a line of knitwear with a sporty edge.

Working with Pringle’s creative studio, H&M’s in-house design team has created the Pringle of Scotland x H&M collection which will be available worldwide and online from 3 October.

Katy Wallace, brand director at Pringle of Scotland, said: “Pringle of Scotland has a long history of collaboration, and this latest partnership with H&M has been hugely inspiring. We are always looking for new ways to express the DNA of our heritage knitwear and we hope this latest playful, sporty take on our famous argyle and fair isle knitwear will delight our existing customers, as well as reach a worldwide audience via H&M”

Key items within the collection include a sweater featuring a diamond pattern spliced with heavy ribbed wool, and a cropped, funnel-necked jumper with balloon sleeves. Items also include a series of oversized, raw-edged sweaters, sweater dresses with ring-pull zip closures and a range of hoodies, leggings, hats and scarves.

Dog owners are also catered for through a collection of dog sweaters in matching prints and colours.

Maria Östblom, head of design womenswear at H&M, said: “The collaboration with Pringle of Scotland, a brand with such a rich and impressive history, has been so much fun for the H&M design team. We have re-worked the iconic argyles and jacquards to incorporate a youthful and sporty touch and I’m proud that we have managed to employ a range of recycled polyesters, wools and organic cottons. I look forward to seeing our customers style the pieces in their own way”
