GO Outdoors to open Europe’s biggest outdoor store
GO Outdoors is to open the “biggest ever outdoor store in Europe” at York’s Vangarde Shopping Park later this month.
The shop will have 125,000 square feet of space and stock over 380 brands across the categories of walking, camping & caravanning, watersports, running, fishing, horse riding and climbing.
It will also have over 30 branded concession areas and a new concept Alpine Café where customers can purchase meals made with locally sourced produce.
Due to launch on 23 August, the store will have a grand opening weekend on 7 and 8 September, with GO Outdoors brand ambassador and TV star Helen Skelton in attendance.
Deb O’Donnell, centre manager at Vangarde Shopping Centre, said: “We are excited to open the doors to Europe’s biggest outdoor retail store and welcome our new customers to the GO Outdoors York store.”
The opening will create 42 new jobs including roles for 28 team members who worked at the retailer’s previous shop in York.
