Gap to launch in India through partnership with Reliance Retail
Gap is to launch in India through a long-term franchise agreement with Reliance Retail.
The move will see Reliance become the official retailer for Gap through a mix of exclusive brand stores, a presence in multi-brand stores, and digital ecommerce platforms.
Adrienne Gernand, managing director of international, global licensing and wholesale at Gap Inc, said: “We look forward to growing the Gap business across key international markets. Partnering with regional experts, like Reliance Retail in India, allows us to deliver our relevant, purpose-driven brand to customers around the globe, while continuing to diversify our business portfolio through our partner-based model.”
Earlier this year, Gap made a return to the UK high street with the opening of a first Gap-branded shop-in-shop within Next’s biggest West End store on London’s Oxford Street. The brand closed all of its own UK stores in 2021 but maintains an online presence here.
