Gap Inc appoints chief growth officer and CEO of Banana Republic
Gap Inc has appointed Asheesh Saksena to the newly created position of chief growth officer.
Due to take up his new role in January, Saksena’s responsibilites will include executing the company’s strategic agenda and leading growth initiatives.
His previous roles include being president of Best Buy Health where he led the brand’s diversification into digital health after serving as the company’s chief strategic growth officer. Prior to that, he led strategy and growth initiatives at Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable.
Gap Inc has also announced that Sandra Stangl will join the business as its new president and chief executive of Banana Republic.
Stangl’s career has included working for 23 years at Williams Sonoma where she held numerous leadership positions including president of Pottery Barn Brands. She has also previously worked as president, chief merchandising and new business development officer for Restoration Hardware and as chief merchant of MINE, a disruptive pure-play home business that she co-founded. She will take up her new role next month.
