Frugi hires Margaret McDonald as chair
Ethical children’s clothing company Frugi has appointed Margaret McDonald, the former global president of Victoria’s Secret, as its new chair.
In addition to working with the lingerie brand, McDonald has held senior positions within a variety of major retail companies including chief executive of LK Bennett, managing director of Coast, European vice president of Banana Republic and vice president of Gap. Her career has also included a stint as head of buying at Marks & Spencer and she has also previously served as executive chairman of Masai Clothing and as a non-executive director of Flying Tiger Copenhagen.
McDonald is currently a non-executive director of private equity backed Spiritual Gangster, an LA based sportswear company.
Frugi said she will bring valuable global knowledge to the company as it works towards future expansion.
Sarah Clark, Frugi chief executive, said: “We are excited to be welcoming Margaret into the Frugi team, with her exceptional level of experience across different retail brands. We look forward to immersing Margaret into our Frugi world, and with her guidance as chair, delivering against our ambitious brand mission and commercial growth plans.”
McDonald added: “I am really looking forward to joining Frugi as chair and working closely alongside Sarah and the rest of the fantastic team. It is a very exciting time for the brand, maintaining its focus on sustainability, quality and giving back to the wider Frugi community, whilst continuing to go from strength to strength. I hope to encourage and be a part of this growth going forwards.”
