Fred Perry launches new flagship store in Manchester’s Northern Quarter
Fred Perry has launched a new flagship store on the ground floor of Bruntwood Works’ Afflecks building in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
The fashion brand’s shop in the city was previously situated on Police Street, but has now moved to a larger 2,820 square foot space in a double corner unit on the junction of Oldham Street and Church Street.
Richard Gilmore, managing director at Fred Perry, said: “We’re delighted to be moving to the Northern Quarter. The area has no shortage of strong associations with ground-breaking music and subcultural style – something we continue to champion. Our retail spaces aren’t just shops, and we’re looking forward to sharing what we do with the Manchester community as part of an exciting continuation of Fred Perry and Afflecks’ mutual commitment to heritage and innovation.”
Manchester’s Northern Quarter has experienced a revival as a key destination for lifestyle and fashion retailers in recent years and has attracted a range of independent boutiques as well as brands such as Ace and Tate and Carharrt.
Chris Middleton, senior retail manager at Bruntwood Works, added: “We are thrilled that the Northern Quarter’s Fred Perry store is now open on the ground floor of our famous Afflecks building. We are incredibly proud of our Afflecks family and the addition of an iconic brand like Fred Perry is brilliant! We’re delighted to continue our support for this amazing part of the city.”
