Footasylum to triple size of store at Merry Hill

Footasylum is set to triple the size of its store at Merry Hill from 3,000 to 10,000 square feet.

Having operated at the West Midlands shopping centre for several years, the retailer will now be combining its existing unit with the adjacent space to create a more modern and engaging shopping experience.

Shannon Osman, head of retail at Footasylum, said: “We are excited to announce the forthcoming opening of our newly expanded and enhanced Footasylum store at Merry Hill.

“With a strong and loyal customer base in the West Midlands, we are delighted to provide them with an elevated in-store shopping experience that reflects our commitment to excellence.”

The expanded store will see shoppers benefit from faster checkout times through the introduction of a new mobile payment system. In addition, the upsize will enable the retailer to offer an extended range of men’s and junior apparel and footwear, and add Footasylum womenswear to its ranges.

Alistair Winning, asset manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, on behalf of Merry Hill, said: “Footasylum is the latest in a long line of top-quality brands that have invested in Merry Hill, and this upsize from a tenant that has been with us for many years shows just how profitable the centre is.

“They are in the heart of the scheme, with the likes of Nike Unite, Skechers, and schuh nearby, and their combined success is vindication of our approach to clustering in this category.”

Footasylum has recently announced a record year of growth in the 12 months to 27 January 2024.
